I have been reading a lot of different things recently. Really gone on an Amazon.com spending splurge and started sucking down all sorts of disparate things. I have several different books going right now.
The most interesting right now is
Class 11: Inside the CIA’s First Post-9/11 Spy Class
by T.J. Waters
This is an interesting book about the first CIA class after September 11th, 2001 (that’s the day the bad guys flew an airplane into the World Trade Center Towers in New York City). The guy goes into a lot of detail, though there are obvious parts he doesn’t talk about. Not very well written. Kinda clunky prose, but still an interesting look into how this whole “spy” business happens.
SAS Survival Guide Handbook
by John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman
I started watching this TV show called Man vs Wild about this crazy assed guy who puts himself out in the middle of nowhere with only a knife and a handful of jujubees or something, and then has to live off the land for a week. Being the geek I am, I thought I’d like to read about more of these sorts of survival things. So I went out and did some research and bought this book. Supposedly it is the best of the genre. …the genre being “books written for a bunch of white guys living in a fantasy world that they are some sort of super macho hero.” I bet you could find this at a gun show.
